New Castle, PA – A proud sponsor of the July 21st, 2012 Veggie U Food & Wine Celebration, Steelite International announces “La Batalla 2012,” a heated culinary showdown of 38 chefs battling for a much coveted seat on the jury’s panel at the 2012 International Tapas Competition in Valladolid, Spain.
Taking place at the Culinary Vegetable Institute in Milan, OH, Steelite’s yearly culinary showdown helps pay tribute to the many high-profile chefs volunteering their time in support of the Veggie U children’s program at the food & wine event. Participating chefs are judged on presentation, taste and plating, among other criteria. The victor is set to be announced at the annual Steelite After-Party the evening of July 21st. Runners-up will receive $1500 Steelite product credit, with the winner being awarded an all-expense paid trip to Spain, highlighted by jury panel privileges at November’s International Tapas Competition.
Previous competition winners have been awarded trips to the world’s #1 rated restaurant, El Bulli, Chicago’s Alinea and Napa Valley’s French Laundry.
