San Diego’s Barons Market Ups The Ante On Gluten-Free Foods
September 16, 2013 | 1 min to read
Local supermarket chain Barons Market is upping the ante on gluten-free foods in San Diego, by inviting gluten-intolerant customers to come sample potential products for store placement.
Customers were able to earn a spot on Thursday's gluten-free tasting panel with a simple Facebook comment. Five consumer participants will now join the Barons management team to sample a room full of gluten-free foods and weigh in on taste, packaging, selection and prices to decide on products sold at the chain's four locations in San Diego and Riverside counties.
The management team tastes every item before putting it on shelves, but this is the second year the company has invited customers to join in its gluten-free tasting.
