CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — The retail story of the year for Clarksville can easily be stated in one word: Publix.
The wait is over for the tens of thousands of Clarksville residents who’ve longed to shop at a Publix grocery in their own city.
Clarksville’s first-ever Publix store, anchoring Madison Street Commons at Madison and Memorial Drive – formerly the site of Gateway Medical Center – opened for business Feb. 1.
Following on its heels will be a second Publix here, in north Clarksville, expected to open in the fall.
