LAKELAND, Fla.- Publix Super Markets Inc. announced today that John Provenzano will be joining the company as vice president of government relations. Provenzano, 43, will assume responsibilities for the company’s local, state and federal government affairs, as well as its political action committee, effective June 12, 2017.

Currently, Provenzano is Executive Director of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) responsible for overseeing all association activities, including membership, conference planning and government affairs, and re-establishing NAST’s 501(c)(3) foundation. Before joining NAST, he was government affairs director for Delta Air Lines. He received his Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and from the University of Florida, his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science.
Provenzano, his wife, Beth, and their three daughters will be relocating to Florida. While Provenzano will spend part of his time in Washington, D.C., he will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Lakeland.
