"Aji amarillo" (Yellow Pepper), the secret flavor of Peruvian cuisine, is showcasing as the main ingredient of Inca gastronomy starting Monday, December 8th through December 19th at various Peruvian Restaurants in New York City with the support of the Trade Commission of Peru in New York. Today, December 11th, the keynote event, the "Yellow Pepper & Pisco Party" is being held at the famous venue on "202 East" located at 202 East 77 th St, 10075 at 7pm. This gastronomic event will count with the presence of the Peruvian General Consul of NY, Ambassador Maria Teresa de Hart who will be in attendance as she is eager to bring attention to this crop that contributes to the productive socio economic development of farmers engaged in cultivating the Yellow Pepper in Peru.
The evening will feature New York City's Peruvian chefs who will be demonstrating live the key benefits of Aji Amarillo. Peruvian masters Chefs Felipe Torres, Jaime Torres, from the restaurant "Raymi"; Miguel Aguilar from "Surfish"; Ezequiel Valencia from "Panca"; César Gutierrez Franco from "Inca's Grill"; Ricardo Echevarria from "La Granja Peruvian Cuisine"; Samuel Vergara of "TranquiloCausa"; Johnny Villavicencio from Teté Bistronomie; Miguel Franco from "Piolyn" joined this initiative. Lucuma ice cream that will delight to the attendees will come through "Tasti D Lite" from Manhattan.
"We can show how to add the best color and flavor to the cuisines of the world: in the yellow rice, in sauces, in stews, in dressings," said Melvi Davila, organizer of this event. As such, the main goal of the first "Yellow Pepper & Pisco Party NYC" is to promote the consumption of Aji Amarillo (Yellow Pepper) and increase the awareness of its qualities that make it central to dishes such as Ceviche, Aji de Gallina, Papa a la Huancaina, Causa, among others.

Pisco, Peru's national spirit, will be enjoyed in various cocktails thanks to the sponsorship of Macchu Pisco, with the highlight being the "Yellow Pepper Chilcano". This cocktail was created by Christian Asca, Peruvian Bartender winner of the "Best NY Pisco Cocktail" at UNICA 2013 gastronomic fair which was held in Manhattan.
Also the aim is to contribute to the productive socio economic development of farmers engaged in cultivating the Yellow Pepper in Peru. This event is sponsored by Goya Food as presenting sponsor as kicking off the new presentation of its Premium Yellow pepper sauce and Golati Sport.Brands that have been confirmed their participation in the first "Yellow Pepper &Pisco Party" are Macchu Pisco; La Diablada; Pisco Vargas; Cusqueña beer; Chicha Limeña and Doen Zhumir Distribuitor will show Pisco Sol de Ica, Vino Intipalka and Cartavio Rum.
