PERFORMANCE Foodservice-Middendorf, St. Louis, has marked 25 years as a licensed distributor of Certified Angus Beef ® products. Staff and guests gathered in June at the facility for an open house celebrating the milestone. Attendees included Orville Middendorf, who founded Middendorf Meat & Quality Foods in 1962, his brother Don Middendorf, and retired brand specialists Charlie Brown and Rich LaRose. Staff received a shirt and lapel pin commemorating the event.
Middendorf was among the first foodservice distributors to embrace the Certified Angus Beef ® brand in the 1980s and deliver its consistent, premium quality to chefs. Company sales since 1986 of the branded beef have eclipsed 30 million pounds.
To recognize the company’s continued dedication to quality, Mark Polzer, the brand’s vice president of business development, presented the distributor with framed artwork by Jack Wells.
