Up to 80 new jobs in the state are expected this spring by the Metropolitan Meat, Seafood & Poultry Co. in Landover as the company consolidates Washington and Maryland offices from its D.C. facility.
The specialty food distributor is relocating all of its operations to Prince George's County, state Department of Commerce officials announced Tuesday.
There will be 15 new jobs added and 65 jobs relocated, state officials said.
The consolidation centers on an acquisition of D.C.-based A.M. Briggs seafood, meat and poultry company, a representative of Metropolitan said Tuesday morning. Both companies operate under the food distribution giant Sysco Corp.
