INDIANAPOLIS — Marsh Supermarkets Inc. says it plans to close stores in Shelbyville and Connersville by the end of February.
The Indianapolis Business Journal reported Wednesday that the grocery chain already had closed a store in Rushville on Friday. Together, the three closures will leave Marsh with 97 stores. About half are in Indianapolis.
In a statement, Marsh linked the Shelbyville closing to an ongoing review of company assets and business plans. The company says its lease on one of two stores in Connersville was about to expire, prompting that closure. The other store in Connersville will remain open.
