Central Broward County shoppers will have a chance to experience the unique ambiance of a small-but-growing grocery chain, Lucky's Market, when its newest "natural and organic" store opens Dec. 7 in Plantation, the company announced Wednesday.
How unique is Lucky's? Well, have you ever been to a grocery store where you were encouraged to buy a $2 craft beer or $4 glass of wine and "sip and stroll"?
There's a wide selection of organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables spilling out of farmer's market-style crates and barrels; a butcher counter that typically offers generous samples of the chain's signature bacon; a long salad bar; a large section of grab-and-go prepared foods including pizza; and a health section labeled as "The Apothecary," which carries teas, salves, diffusers, elixirs, soaps, candles, oils, natural remedies and mainstream medicines.
