Legacy Foodservice Alliance Hosts Fall Conference & Sales Connection

The Legacy Foodservice Alliance 2013 Fall Marketplace was held September 16-18, at The Omni Shoreham, Washington, DC.  The event brought together more than 350 Legacy Distributor and Supplier Members for three days of business building, networking, and Distributor Sales Education.

Legacy continues to go to great lengths to ensure that Distributor and Supplier Members have every opportunity to connect at the Marketplace. The Legacy Events App was introduced and utilized throughout the Marketplace to request meetings with other app users, receive up to the minute deals, post photos, and find exhibitor placements on the show floor.  Mobile devices offered immediate connections and communication.

Top Managers from Distributor Members came together in a group environment, facilitated by Dwight Gorsuch, Tidewater Management Group, for a morning of open discussion regarding problem solving, future industry expectations, and best practices.  The group shared ideas on purchasing, operations/personnel, and how they are managing the Foodservice World today. Deb Winter, EVP, Sales and Marketing for Legacy said, “It was a remarkably frank exchange of self-help information, future planning, and a joint review of common goals and efforts”.

The Group offers two supplier sessions.  One with a show floor environment format and another with private meeting suites by appointment.  And finally, a session with Distributor Members in meeting spaces, by appointment, gives all participants another venue to connect.  The Legacy Distributor Members were prepared to make product line conversions and to support attending Supplier Partners. Suppliers responded with strong deals and rewards for successful business results.  Reach Deals were an integral part of the excitement, with Distributor Members working together to maximize the deals offered by the Supplier Members.

Woven into the schedule was the annual Legacy Sales Connection.   Harvey Becker facilitated the two-day Professional Development event with more than 20 DSR’s and Sales Managers in attendance.   The format offered networking opportunities, hands-on educational training and motivating sales ideas. Several key Supplier Members offered product training, and Legacy StreetWise video training programs were highlighted to attendees.

Legacy Foodservice Alliance continues to grow at a rapid pace and now numbers more than 125 distributorlocations nationally.
