Kroger Co. has added another market where customers can order products online and pick them up in stores and rolled out a brand name for the fast-growing service.
Kroger (NYSE: KR), the nation’s largest operator of traditional supermarkets, officially named the “click-and-collect” service ClickList. That’s a name it has informally used from time to time in recent months, but Kevin Dougherty, Kroger’s group vice president of digital and Vitacost, said Tuesday at the company’s investor conference in New York that Kroger officially launched the brand name this week.
Cincinnati-based Kroger also added Nashville, Tenn., this week as the fifth market, including Cincinnati, where Kroger is offering the service. It now provides online ordering and customer pickup service at 19 stores. Kroger, the nation’s largest operator of traditional supermarkets, has 2,623 stores in 34 states and the District of Columbia.
