Idaho Potato Commission & Top Chefs Cook, Taste & TALK At PREMIER Culinary Event

Eagle ID — With an array of acclaimed potato varieties, including the famed Russet Burbank, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) takes its mandate to educate chefs very seriously about potato options.   At PlateCooks, a three-day, action-packed, cooking, tasting and networking event, the IPC will join some of the nation's most innovative chefs in a riveting exchange of insights, techniques and trends September 25-27, 2011 at Kendall College in Chicago.  At the event, Chef Tony Priolo of Piccolo Sogno will work with the IPC to develop and present a distinctive menu application, Idaho® Potato Risotto With Truffles, to the attendees.

As a sponsor of this exclusive chef education program, the IPC will meet and network with chefs from across the country in interactive sessions, hands-on workshops and team menu competitions.  “Our goal is making Idaho® potatoes an integral, relevant and exciting ingredient in current and emerging American Cuisine,” says Don Odiorne, Vice President Foodservice IPC. “Events like PlateCooks put us at the epicenter of the discussion and at the forefront of innovation. We look forward to sharing our event experiences and results with the foodservice industry.”

About the Idaho Potato Commission

The Idaho Potato Commission is a state agency that is primarily responsible for expanding the markets for Idaho-grown potatoes through advertising, promotion and research. The Commission also protects the use of the “Idaho® potato” and “Grown in Idaho®” seals, which are federally registered Certification Marks that belong to the IPC. These Marks ensure that consumers are purchasing potatoes that have been grown in the state of Idaho. For more information, visit www.idahopotato.com.
