GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Meijer has plans to build stores in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Cleveland and Minneapolis in the next five years.
"We see Cleveland as the next city to go to," CEO Hank Meijer told a grocery industry crowd on Tuesday.
He wrapped up the two-day Western Michigan University's Food Marketing Conference held for the first time in DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
"The first stores will open in 2018 or 2019," he said.
