A discount grocery chain will continue its expansion into San Diego County by opening three new stores in North County by the end of next month.
Grocery Outlet, which opened its first North County store in Oceanside two years ago, will open additional stores in Poway on Thursday, in Escondido on Aug. 15 and in San Marcos on Sept. 19.
The company opened stores in Point Loma and downtown San Diego last year.
When all the new North County stores are open, Grocery Outlet will have eight markets in the county and more than 170 overall. The chain also has stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona.
