KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Gordon Food Service has announced plans to build a $58 million, 300,000-square-foot distribution center in Kannapolis that will lead to 275 jobs with an expected annual salary of more than $12 million, officials said.

Kannapolis City Council unanimously approved an incentive agreement at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday night that will allow the company to move forward on locating here.

Gordon Food Service will build a distribution center in the Afton Ridge Business Park on Glen Afton Boulevard off Kannapolis Parkway. The firm expects the Kannapolis facility to be open by the end of 2015.
