FoodLink®, the buying platform that connects fresh food retailers and wholesalers to a network of over 2,000 supplier companies, today announced a significant long-term agreement with leading retail grocer, Ahold USA, Inc. Under terms of the agreement, FoodLink will become the definitive online buying platform for all fresh produce, meat, seafood, deli and floral category purchasing across more than 750 stores under the Giant-Carlisle, Giant-Landover, Martin’s and Stop & Shop brand banners in the U.S.
“Ahold has long been an important customer for FoodLink, and this new agreement highlights not just their support of FoodLink, but also the priority Ahold places on sourcing and managing fresh, safe food across a large and complex supply chain,” said Eric Peters, CEO, FoodLink.
FoodLink is a buying platform that connects all of the participants in the fragmented perishable goods supply chain. The network consists of more than 2,000 retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, including carriers and third-party brokers and wholesalers. The network helps retailers manage the fresh food category to source the highest quality products at competitive prices while reducing waste and inefficiencies across the supply chain. For suppliers, FoodLink is a sales platform that simplifies the process of managing orders, tracking shipments, responding to change requests, and receiving payment.
