Food Lion says it has finished work on about half of its Charlotte-area grocery stores, as part of a major renovation effort at the chain.

Approximately 70 stores of the area’s 142 are done, spokeswoman Christy Phillips-Brown said. The remodeling efforts are going “extremely well” in Charlotte, Phillips-Brown said, and the company is working to complete construction on the remaining stores by October.

Some are still awaiting the new exterior signage. The Dilworth store on Park Road, for example, is scheduled to have its new sign installed Thursday.
