Arlington, VA – Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and Alchemy Systems have collaborated with retail food safety directors to create an online, interactive training course, SafeMark™ Food Safety Manager: Certification Training for Retail Food Stores.
Alchemy Systems, a global leader in food industry workforce development, has announced the release of the highly anticipated online course, SafeMark™ Food Safety Manager: Certification Training for Retail Food Stores. Food safety is the highest priority for food retailers and the new SafeMark™ training course equips food managers with innovative tools to help reduce the risk of foodborne illness, and to meet regulatory compliance as outlined in the 2013 FDA Food Code. The course prepares food professionals to take the SafeMark™ Food Protection Manager Certification Exam offered by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals.
The completely new eLearning course significantly improves the learning experience, while providing easy and convenient course access. Developed for the retail food manager, the new course incorporates interactive activities and retail-specific learning scenarios to maximize managers’ food safety knowledge and concept retention.
In March, FMI announced its partnership with Alchemy to develop and provide online training courses for FMI’s SafeMark™ food safety programs. The release of the food manager course expands Alchemy’s comprehensive solution suite for the retail industry, which also includes SafeMark™ online training course for food handlers and solutions for loss prevention and customer/associate safety.
“Alchemy Systems brings expertise in training food industry employees using innovative techniques and sound science,” said Hilary Thesmar, vice president, food safety programs, FMI. “We are excited to be partnering with Alchemy to bring these online training tools to retail associates and ensure that retailers have the most effective food safety solutions.”
The course gives retailers the option for unique branding to incorporate company-specific policies, logos and color schemes so that retail food safety managers not only learn what is needed to pass the certification exam, but also the unique protocols their chains have established to increase quality and safety beyond industry standards.
“FMI and Alchemy interviewed a number of retail food safety directors about how to improve training for food safety managers”, said Jeff Eastman, CEO of Alchemy Systems. “Overwhelmingly, they told us they wanted the course to be very engaging and very efficient with respect to their managers’ limited time to take training. We believe the directors will be very pleased with the course they helped us to design to meet their needs.”
The new SafeMark™ food manager course is now available. Retail chains may explore custom branding options for company-specific features exclusively through Alchemy.
