- Newport Meat Company So-Cal, Irvine, Calif., received the Foodservice Commitment to Integrity award. Newport expertly delivers specialty beef cuts to leading restaurants in the market and works closely with accounts to ensure the Certified Angus Beef ® brand is recognized by name on the menu for genuine quality. Through beef expertise and attention to detail, the team’s focus on the brand also earned honors as the Top Sales Volume Specialty Meat Company. The distributor helps customers appreciate the brand’s quality from farm to table.
- Sysco Houston, Houston, Texas, received the Broadline Foodservice Distributor Marketer of the Year award. Marketing and training showcased Sysco Houston’s team of protein specialists. They worked closely with restaurateurs to focus on premium beef menu items. Hands-on educational programs for staff and customers explained the Certified Angus Beef ® brand’s quality and identified ideal items for health services menus. The introduction of Certified Angus Beef ® product of Texas also helped Sysco Houston earn the Top Sales Volume Broadline Foodservice Distributor award.
- US Foods – Knoxville, Alcoa, Tenn., was recognized for Dedication to Excellence. Through eight consecutive years of growth with Certified Angus Beef ® brand products, US Foods – Knoxville has helped customers also grow and succeed with premium beef on the menu. The brand is the cornerstone of US Foods’ focus on consistent, high-quality products and beef expertise. Educational programs help the team deliver products that perform as expected when served and build customer trust in the restaurant, distributor and the beef brand.
- Food Services of America – Portland, Woodburn, Ore., was named the Foodservice Brand Extension Marketer of the Year. This distributor builds strong relationships with high-profile customers by offering specialty cuts, including Certified Angus Beef ® brand Prime and Northwest-produced Certified Angus Beef ® brand items. The efforts earned a 16% sales gain for the company’s 20th year offering the brand of beef.
- Sysco Gulf Coast, Geneva, Ala., received the Foodservice Value-added Products Marketer of the Year award. Sysco Gulf Coast offers customers a complete selection of fresh cuts, as well as value-added items that deliver both great taste and convenience. Successful promotions encouraged the sales team to discuss several new items with customers, and helped the company grow both sales and customer success with premium beef menu items.
- Sierra Meat & Seafood, Reno, Nev., was named the Specialty Meat Company Marketer of the Year.
