Behind every Gulf shrimp is a tale to tell.
Gulf shrimp have provided the Mississippi Coast with bountiful blessings for generations. Boys have learned how to shrimp from their fathers and taught their sons.
Many on the Coast will tell you there's just nothing that tastes as good as shrimp plucked from the nutrient-rich waters of the Gulf.
Unfortunately, not all shrimp eaten on the Gulf Coast is caught in Gulf waters.
"Over 90 percent of the shrimp eaten in the United States are actually farm-raised from imported sources," said Jonathan McClendon with Biloxi Freezing & Processing and M&M Processing.
