Buy Low Foods And Associated Grocers Executive Appointments Announced

I am pleased to announce the following changes to our senior leadership structure, in support of our ongoing growth and development, both on the retail and the wholesale sides of the business and for the company overall. These changes will take place, effective immediately.

Sam Corea will assume responsibility as Vice President, Retail. In his new capacity, and reporting to me, Sam will assume executive management responsibility for all matters relating to corporate store operations, merchandising and banner positioning. With this, Dereck Hein has been promoted to Director, Retail Operations and Troy Dewinetz has been promoted to Director, Merchandising and Corporate Marketing. Troy and Dereck will report directly to Sam.

Albert Lum has been promoted to Vice President, Supply Chain and Procurement, reporting to me. In this capacity, Albert will play a critical role both in managing inventory needs for all aspects of our business, and also in leading the work to optimize and evolve our corporate infrastructure from a facilities and transportation management point of view. With this, we have promoted Aaron Bregg to Director, Produce Operations. Aaron will report directly to Albert, while continuing to support the needs of our wholesale customers under the direction of Larry Chmielewski.

Larry Chmielewski, who will continue to report to me, has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Wholesale. In this capacity, Larry will assume overall executive management responsibility for all aspects of our Associated Grocers wholesale business, including sales, wholesale marketing, and customer relationship management. To support this direction, Brody Powell, has been promoted to the position of General Manager, Independent Wholesale Marketing and Rick Geirnaert, has been promoted to the position of General Manager, Independent Business Development with both positions reporting to Larry.

Ian Dickson has been promoted to Vice President, Strategic Growth Initiatives. In this newly created role, Ian will work directly with me on strategic business development and corporate governance initiatives, a critical role as we continue to explore and solidify new business channels, and develop strategies and synergies between retail and wholesale to maximize sales opportunities for all channels.

Leonard Jang, Vice President and General Manager of Van-Whole Produce, will continue to hold executive management responsibility for all aspects of the Van-Whole operation, and in this capacity, will continue to report directly to me.

Atanu Dalal has been promoted to Vice President, Finance and Corporate Services, where he will hold executive management responsibility for Finance, Risk Management, Office Services, Real Estate matters and Legal affairs. Atanu will continue to report directly to me.

In support of our plans to modernize our Information Technology platforms, Clark Wong has been promoted to Managing Director, Information Technology as we seek to add support to the team undertaking development in this key area of our business. As part of our key senior leadership team, Clark will continue to report to me.

In recognition of her contribution to the organization and the importance of our people related initiatives, Sandra Stelting has been promoted to Director, Human Resources, reporting to me.

With these changes, and the talent and experience of the incumbents in each role, we are confident that we have the right foundation for continued growth as we look forward.
