Brothers Marketplace Opens Third Location In Waltham, Mass. Now Open

Wellesley, MA – Roche Bros. opened its third Brothers Marketplace store this week in Waltham, Mass. The neighborhood market offers customers a one-stop grocery shopping and dining experience with a carefully curated selection of fresh foods, local and specialty products, delicious prepared meals, and grocery essentials. The new store will be located at The Merc at Moody & Main, a 269-unit mixed-use transit-oriented development in downtown Waltham.

The opening included a celebratory ribbon-cutting with Waltham Mayor Jeannette A. McCarthy. The first 100 shoppers received a $10 Brothers Marketplace gift card.  The new market will be open Monday-Saturday 7am-9pm and Sunday 8am-8pm.

The 8,500 square-foot market emphasizes local producers and vendors that have been handpicked by store associates, including Iggy's Breads from Cambridge, Drink Maple from Concord, Natick Community Organic Farm, and many others. Brothers Marketplace will also feature local vendors from Waltham, including handcrafted breads from Bread Obsession and charcuterie from New England Charcuterie, offered sliced to order, in a sandwich or to take home for sandwiches or salads.

"We are thrilled to make Brothers Marketplace a central part of the community of Waltham," said Rick Roche, co-owner and CEO of Roche Bros. "We look forward to serving local residents and businesses with great food, groceries and products from local vendors at our new market."

Located across from the Waltham Common and the MBTA commuter rail station, The Merc – developed by Northland Investment Corporation – offers residents a dynamic urban living experience with excellent access to transit, restaurants, movie theater, parks, and now, an urban market.

Shoppers at Brothers Marketplace in Waltham can expect an inviting in-store experience, whether staying for a meal or picking up groceries to go. Customers can indulge in scratch-baked pastries, locally roasted coffee from Armeno Coffee in Northborough, tea from Tea Guys in Whately, and espresso drinks from the store's bakery and coffee bar, which will feature indoor seating overlooking the Common. In season, customers will also be able enjoy outdoor seating tucked off the street. The store will also feature a salad bar, hot grab-and-go meals and prepared foods, made-to-order sandwiches and sushi rolled and hand cut by Mai Sushi chefs. Customers will also find a wide selection of natural and antibiotic free meats and a live lobster tank.

The front entrance is at the corner of Moody & Main, across from the Common, as well as a parking in back with an entrance from the lot. The new market will be open Monday-Saturday 7am-9pm and Sunday 8am-8pm.

Brothers Marketplace, which has existing locations in Medfield and Weston, brings an innovative approach to food, with a nod to the legacy of small neighborhood markets from long ago. Shoppers will find unique offerings in prepared foods made in-store, baked goods, seasonal and exotic produce, fresh local seafood, antibiotic and hormone free meats, local and international cheeses, and packaged foods from local producers. Brothers Marketplace provides busy customers the ability to purchase grab-and-go items quickly while also offering an experiential setting for lingering and savoring an array of seasonal foods.
