SALINAS, CA – Church Brothers Farms, a leading grower/processor/shipper of more than 500 fresh vegetable SKUs, will participate in several activities leading up and related to, the PMA Foodservice Conference and Expo in Monterey.
To start the weekend, three company employees (Team Church) will participate in the Tour de Fresh 2016 192-mile bike ride from Napa to Monterey to raise money for school salad bars.
This is the third year Jeff Church, vice president sales, will ride and the second for Chuck Church, media manager, and Drew McDonald, vice president food safety. At the end of the three-day fundraiser, Team Church will host all Tour de Fresh participants for a post-ride celebration at the Church Brothers’ family ranch. During the week prior to the PMA Expo, the company will host more than 36 field and plant tours. Then on Saturday, July 30, it will host the Church Brothers Farms’ Ranch Party, an annual private party to thank customers for their support.
“The family ranch party tradition is part of the Church Brothers’ legacy in the Salinas Valley,” said Kori Tuggle, vice president of marketing. “Our customers and trade partners look forward to it all year; we use the opportunity to showcase our products and say thank you for your support.”
At the Foodservice PMA Expo on Sunday, July 31, the company will broadcast the video commercial from Wendy’s featuring company founders Tom and Steve Church that has been viewed more than 3,500 times since it was launched the beginning of July.
Also, in booth 214, the company will feature new items including its organic Tender-leaf product line and showcase its newest blends Kale Color Crunch and Baby Kale Medley in addition to the full line of commodities and value-added packs created specifically for the foodservice channel.
