YottaMark Awarded Patent For Enhancing Quality Management Of Perishables

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.  – YottaMark Inc., provider of HarvestMark, the industry-leading fresh food traceability and insights platform, announced today it has been granted an important patent on using traceability to make quality measurement more meaningful and actionable in the food supply chain.

The new patent, U.S. Patent No. 8,825,516, covers a method for making a quality assessment of a product – for example in a Distribution Center or grocery store – and associating that assessment with information from a traceability code on the product packaging. The invention covered by this patent has been incorporated into a quality management solution that has conducted hundreds of thousands of produce inspections to date, worldwide.

As retailers and their customers increasingly demand better quality fresh food and the industry implements traceability, this invention represents a crucial solution for gaining actionable visibility to the supply chain.
