Fresno, CA – Excitement, interest and demand continues to grow for the new Sinclair® EcoLabel™. As the leading produce labeling solution provider, Sinclair offers the industry’s first compostable fruit label made from a blend of thermoplastic starch and biodegradable synthetic polymers. Validated through rigorous trials and development, this compostable label disintegrates in 12 weeks or less, in accordance with test method ISO 16929 (2013). There is no visual difference to the look, feel or performance of the compostable material and it adheres well to all fruit types using any type of Sinclair labeling equipment.
Kelly L. Kirschner, VP of Global Marketing, explains, “The composition and performance of our Sinclair® EcoLabel™ is truly unique; it remains robust throughout the supply chain, and then the 12-week disintegration process starts once composting activity begins. Like other Sinclair label products, it’s food-safe and complies with relevant FDA and
EU legislation for use in direct food contact applications. We are happy to support our customers with a ‘green’ alternative and we’re pursuing other opportunities to innovate and continuously offer improved labeling solutions.”
The compostable label is compatible with Sinclair’s full line of labeling equipment, which is supported by their global team of technical service experts. Additionally, it is suitable for use on all types of loose produce, and it’s the perfect complement for organic lines.
Sinclair Systems manufactures food-safe produce labels that are FDA and EU compliant. The unique Sinclair Tab-Lift® feature allows fruit labels to be removed quickly and easily— and all in one piece.
