NAPLES – At Redlands Christian Migrant Association, young children enrich their minds while having a great time. At the Lipman Golf Classic, adults help those children while having a great time.
The Golf Classic is the newest charity golf tournament in the Naples area. It benefits RCMA: a deeply rooted asset to low-income farmworking communities in Florida. Lipman, the largest field tomato grower in North America, has adopted RCMA’s traditional golf tournament, and is upgrading it significantly.
“In Immokalee, we see first-hand how RCMA’s child care centers benefit our farmworkers and many others,” said Jaime Weisinger, Lipman’s Director of Community Relations and chairman of the tournament planning committee. “RCMA is a first-class nonprofit, and we wanted to help them with a first-class golf tournament.”
The Lipman Golf Classic will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on May 4th at Naples Heritage Golf Club. Individual golfers can play for $225, which includes breakfast, lunch and eye-popping door prizes. Sponsorships up to $10,000 are available.
Based in Immokalee, RCMA operates 70 child-care centers and three charter schools in 21 Florida counties. In Southwest Florida, RCMA runs Immokalee Community School and 13 child-care centers, serving nearly 1,500 children.
