Representing the produce industry at FNCE in Nashville, The Foundation for Fresh Produce will promote the Have A Plant® campaign to 8,000+ dietitians, offering resources at booth #1126, giveaways, and fresh produce donations to help professionals boost fruit and vegetable consumption. The Foundation will showcase fruitsandveggies.org’s new For Professionals section, join culinary and reception events with partners like the National Pork Board, and recruit allies to scale impact on global health.
NEWARK, Del. — For the third year in a row, The Foundation for Fresh Produce will represent the produce industry at the world’s largest meeting of food, nutrition and dietetics professionals. Taking place in Nashville, TN October 11-14, The Foundation will share its mission and resources with 8,000+ registered dietitians from across the world during the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE).
The event is one of the best opportunities of the year for The Foundation to introduce the Have A Plant® campaign to these key professionals who are shaping eating behaviors daily. Attendees come from many different fields and backgrounds. From researchers and healthcare providers to retail and foodservice professionals, lifestyle influencers and every food touchpoint in between, dietitian attendees address a full range of key nutrition issues daily and work across various points of influence where people are making decisions about food. The support of this rich and varied community is critical to the work of helping people eat more fruits and vegetables, and The Have A Plant® campaign exists to help with those efforts.
“We are energized and ready to learn from the thousands of dietitians we’ll have a chance to talk to during the three-day Expo.” said Katie Calligaro, Director of Marketing & Communications, The Foundation for Fresh Produce. “This event is an important opportunity to grow our community and find partners who will help us make the biggest changes in global health. We can’t grow fruit and vegetable consumption alone; we need these important professionals at our side.”
The past two years, the Have A Plant® booth was one of the most popular on the show floor and this year will be no different. Dietitians are thrilled to see fruits and vegetables represented and grateful for the fresh produce (donated by FreshPoint South Region) available for them to take by the bagful. The booth will also feature Have A Plant® tote bags and t-shirt giveaways, fun fruit and veggie tattoos, and a variety of resources to show what fruitsandveggies.org has to offer.
Registered dietitians often say that helping patients and clients eat more fruits and vegetables is one of their biggest challenges. This makes the campaign’s website, fruitsandveggies.org, the perfect place to send their patients and clients for practical tips, recipes and inspiration for enjoying more fruits and vegetables every day. The site also features a new and improved dedicated section For Professionals where they can find resources to expand their own expertise and help the people they care for.
The team will also participate in multiple adjacent events that present opportunities to make connections. One notable highlight will be an interactive culinary experience in partnership with the National Pork Board and Eat Well Exchange, where attendees will explore global flavors and discover how pork and produce can come together in delicious, culturally inspired dishes.
Another noteworthy highlight will be sponsoring the Compass Group FNCE Reception with influential foodservice leaders where they will celebrate the important role they play in teaching people how tasty fruits and veggies can be, whether in schools, at colleges and universities, and at scale during conventions and sporting events. They’ll also attend the Healthy Family Project’s annual Trivia Night to show support for their signature campaign, “Mission for Nutrition,” which donates to The Foundation to support K-12 leaders attending The International Fresh Produce Association’s Foodservice Conference.
