Salinas, CA — Taylor Farms Retail is proud to announce an 80,000 square foot expansion of its cut vegetable facility in Monterey County, CA. The expansion will more than double capacity of the existing facility, bringing the plant to 135,000 square feet on 21 acres. The expansion is scheduled to be completed in early April, 2014.

"The success of our Green Giant Fresh(R) branded cut vegetable line is fueling the need for expansion. We continue to replace competing brands at major retailers," states Mark Campion, President of Taylor Farms Retail. "In each case we see a minimum of 20% sales lift. Furthermore when we couple our cut vegetable product offerings with our extensive organic and conventional salad offerings we are able to deliver more frequently to each distribution center, resulting in fresher product on shelf for the consumer. We want to ensure we're giving consumers what they're looking for…great tasting, fresh vegetables at a great value."

The new plant will include state of the art, commodity specific processing equipment as well as a major focus on energy efficiency and cold chain management. The facility will utilize renewable energy produced by wind and solar technologies.
