Tastee Apple is recalling Caramel Apples with Nuts because the ingredient label does not state that the product contains nuts. This recall does involve Indianapolis Fruit Company and we are contacting affected customers.

The issue is that several pallets of product were packed with the plain caramel apple label on the package with caramel with nuts inside. The ingredient list does not include peanuts on the plain label so a recall is underway for UPC 35266 00027 with a date code of 9/29.

Expiration on the cases is 9/29, but the tape is brown indicating caramel with nuts and not plain which is on the labels. This is an allergen alert even though the product will clearly show nuts on it. We do have the disclaimer that it is made in a facility that processes nuts. None the less peanuts are not listed as an ingredient on the plain label, hence the recall.

Tastee Apple is undertaking steps currently to remedy this situation and prevent its reoccurence. To this point, we have stopped shipping this product until a new label is developed.
