Tanimura & Antle Sees Boom In 'Artisan' Demand

In a field just outside of Spreckels on Friday, Mike Antle showed off one of his company’s fastest growing product lines: Artisan Lettuce. “Sales have increased several hundred percent since we introduced the line,” Antle said.
The brand names — Petite Tango, Petite Oak and Petite Gem — are fully mature lettuce varieties that are sold on retail shelves in clear clamshell packaging.
