SUNSET Delano Tomato Wins Best New Product Award

Kingsville, ON – Mastronardi Produce proudly accepted the 2012 Best New Vegetable Product Award at this year’s United Fresh show in Dallas, TX for SUNSET® Delano™ tomatoes.

The Delano™ tomato is slightly smaller than a regular Tomato on the Vine with much more flavor. “We added this new variety to the SUNSET® family to give consumers the added value in a tomato variety that has always been in high demand” states Paul Mastronardi, President. “TOV’s have been leading the tomato category for years with one thing missing – flavor, our SUNSET® brand is built on taste and quality and that’s what we want to deliver.”

Over 25 fresh fruit and vegetable innovations were finalists in the 2012 New Product Awards from a long list of eligible entries. The SUNSET® Delano™ tomatoes are packed on a recyclable tray with high graphics and then flow wrapped to protect the fruit and extend shelf life.
