Stemilt Announces Winners From National Lil Snappers Brand Contest

WENATCHEE, Wash. – Stemilt Growers invited parents to share their funniest stories and videos of their children through a nationwide contest last month and the side-splitting results are in! Stemilt’s Snappiest Lil Snapper digital contest was designed to reach parents and reinforce Stemilt’s popular Lil Snappers® brand of kid-sized apples and pears.
“We reached out to parents through their favorite social channels and asked them to share funny stories about their favorite topic – their kids,” states Brianna Shales, communications manager at Stemilt. “This Snappiest Lil Snapper contest helped us build brand recognition through an easy, fun contest that parents were eager to participate in.”
Stemilt chose 11 winners from qualified entries and each received a prize pack including a bag of Lil Snappers® Piñata® apples, a bento lunch box container, an apple corer and a Visa gift card. The grand prize winner received a $1,000 Visa gift card while other prize levels also took home a cash prize.
To wrap up the contest, Stemilt released a two-and-a-half minute video of the stories and videos that were submitted by the winners. The company is sharing the video on its social channels this week.
“The video highlight reel is a fun way to finish this contest, which was held to reach both regular Lil Snappers® shoppers and those not as familiar with the brand,” states Shales. “The contest was the central part of a large effort to boost brand awareness and marketplace availability of these kid-sized fruits. Influencers on social media helped us spread the word of the contest and reinforce the fact that Lil Snappers® are the perfect lunchbox or snack time food for kids.”
Lil Snappers® kid-size fruit hit markets in 2011 and quickly became a popular produce item for parent consumers around the country. The smaller-sized fruit provided kids favorable portion sizes in the flavorful varieties they love. Today, Lil Snappers® includes a full line of 3lb. pouch bags of various apple or pear varieties, and an entire line of Lil Snappers® Artisan Organics™ apples and pears. With wide distribution, Stemilt created the consumer contest as another method that brings the Lil Snappers® brand to a national scale.
While the contest is over, Shales said Stemilt will continue to encourage retailers to promote the popular Lil Snappers® brand into the spring and summer months. Stemilt provides merchandising and marketing resources, including social toolkits, displays, and in-market advertising to help retailers sell more of the industry leading pouch bag.
“This contest occurred during the peak Lil Snappers® season, but the great thing about this brand is its ability to sell year-round.
