Smurfberries Are Back As Gourmet Trading Company Teams With Columbia Pictures

LOS ANGELES — In anticipation of the release of Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s The Smurfs™ 2, in theaters July 31st, Gourmet Trading Company is bringing back the iconic characters to the labels on their packages of California, Oregon and British Columbia blueberries.

As part of the promotion, from June 15th through September 30th, consumers can enter Gourmet Trading Company’s The Smurfs 2 Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for four to Hollywood and Gourmet Trading Company’s Blueberry Farm in Bakersfield.  Entry information and rules can be find atgourmettrading.net/smurfs2, and the sweepstakes information will also be on the labels. Gourmet Trading Company blueberry labels for 6oz, 11 oz, and 18 oz packages will feature six different Smurf characters, along with the sweepstakes information, until the end of August.

In The Smurfs™ 2, the sequel to Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation’s hybrid live action/animated family blockbuster comedy The Smurfs, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence.
