Simonian Fruit Company, currently celebrating its 50th anniversary, is excited to announce the first apricots of the season are now available. Thanks to several unseasonably strong California storms this spring, the picking season arrived a bit later than usual this year, allowing the fruit to stay on the trees a bit longer and increasing their sugar content. Ironically, the unusual weather patterns may make for Simonian’s best tasting apricots in several years.
Simonian Fruit Company is fortunate that their Mendota growing area sustained no real damage from the storms that brought large amounts of rain and even hail to some regions, which means customers can expect their fruit to arrive with the usual cleanliness and undamaged appearance they’ve come to expect from Simonian Fruit. Combined with the fact that these apricots are third-party Primus certified, grown using only the best in sustainable practices, and are available in a variety of pack styles, and Simonian Fruit Company believes this will prove to be a very profitable apricot season for everyone.
Starting this week, Simonian will begin shipping its Poppy and Earlicot varieties, followed shortly by the Goldenbush, the Robada and the Chandler. By the beginning of next month, look for the Patterson and Helena varieties to be available for shipping. For all varieties, packaging styles include 24 lb. cartons, as well as 2-layer tray packs.
“It’s like Mother Nature is celebrating our 50th anniversary with us by giving Simonian Fruit exceptionally sweet apricots this year,” said Jeff Simonian, Vice President of Simonian Fruit Company. “What a great gift for us, and an even better present for our customers.” Simonian went on to say that for five decades his company has delivered premium fruit combined with unmatched customer service designed to fulfill any and all of their valued customers’ needs, and it’s something they’re committed to continuing for the next 50 years.
