RPE Fights Hunger One Selfie At A Time

Bancroft, Wis. — RPE Inc., is excited to continue its partnership with the Growing Forward™ with Feeding America® campaign through its brand, Old Oak Farms. Hunger Action Month, founded by Feeding America, kicked off September 1, and beginning September 8, RPE and Old Oak Farms will be launching a new selfie social media campaign, #OldOakSelfie. This campaign will help raise awareness and donations for the fight against hunger.

The #OldOakSelfie campaign is a quick and easy way for anyone to give back to the community. For every selfie taken with a bag of Old Oak Farms potatoes and posted using the #OldOakSelfie hashtag, Old Oak Farms will donate 10 pounds (up to 40,000 pounds) of potatoes to Growing Forward with Feeding America.* Participants can post their #OldOakSelfie on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages. Each week one selfie will be featured as the Old Oak Farms Selfie of the Week.

Last year RPE and Old Oak Farms were able to donate 40,000 pounds of potatoes to the Growing Forward with Feeding America campaign and this year, with the help of selfies, the hope is to donate just as much.

The campaign, running now through December 31, will also provide numerous in-store promotional opportunities. Specially marked point of sale materials will provide step-by-step directions on how to help donate. Additional in-store displays, as well as social media graphics, will also be available for our customers.

*Feeding America will distribute the potatoes to local member food bank(s).
