Salinas California based Royal Rose LLC will introduce an entire line of new retail packages at the West Coast Produce Expo on May 14, 2016.
Radicchio will now be packed in a high graphic resealable bag for retail that details many great hot or cold uses, and the positive health attributes of Royal Rose Radicchio. Royal Rose Radicchio is a Certified Italian Superfood. In addition to the classic Chioggia Radicchio variety, Royal Rose will also introduce Bambini, a double pack of Treviso. Treviso Radicchio, also known as Trevisano, is the elongated chicory variety that perfectly lends itself to grilling and roasting. Additionally, Royal Rose is launching Mediterranean Hearts TM , a combination of romaine hearts and Treviso. Mediterranean Heart packages have been designed for retailers as an extension of the consumer favorite Romaine Heart triple-pack.
“We studied the retail consumers in detail in to gain an understanding of how consumers use Radicchio. We quickly realized that Radicchio, which is consumed Europe used in many ways, was virtually unknown in the US markets. Most consumers did not know of the many uses of Radicchio and of the incredible health benefits. Our new packaging calls out many uses including grilling, salads, and juicing (both hot and cold) and the health benefits that make Radicchio a certified SUPERFOOD. We knew if we could get the consumer to try Radicchio, that we would have a customer for life…” said General Manager of Royal Rose, Ed O’Malley.
The new bags can be used to create a great Italian Vegetable category within the produce department. By using Italian flag colors the consumer’s eye is drawn to the new packs. Royal Rose plans on backing the new items with promotions, recipes on our website and a robust social media presence. Please come by our booth at the West Coast Produce Expo (booth # 508) to see the new product line, and meet our new management team.
