PRO*ACT Foundation Supports Relief Efforts In Japan

MONTEREY, CA – PRO*ACT, America’s leading distributor of fresh produce to the foodservice industry, made an initial donation of over $18,000 to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief fund. The donations were provided through the PRO*ACT Foundation, established after Hurricane Katrina as a way for employees, distributors, customers and suppliers to join together to provide assistance after natural disasters or in times of need.

“The scope of the devastation in Japan is almost unimaginable. The costs of providing care and shelter to those affected, and then of rebuilding, are enormous and will be ongoing for many years,” said PRO*ACT CEO Steve Grinstead. “Through the PRO*ACT Foundation, our supply chain family can come together to support those efforts by supporting the American Red Cross.”

The PRO*ACT Foundation, whose Board of Directors is made up of PRO*ACT distributor executives, continues to seek and distribute donations to provide relief. Suppliers, distributors, customers and others in the industry wishing to contribute to the PRO*ACT Foundation’s ongoing support of American Red Cross efforts in Japan should contact Marketing Director Mary Wright-Rana, mwrightrana@proactusa.com, (831) 658-1961 for information on how to donate.
