MEDINA — Pride Pak, Canada's largest fresh fruit and vegetable processor, is investing more than $20 million in a state-of-the-art facility in this Orleans County village in order to be closer to its U.S. customers, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office announced Thursday.
Construction of Pride Pak Canada Ltd.'s new, 68,000-square-foot facility is underway. The facility will be sited on 13 acres in the Medina Business Park. It will be a major user of the village's water and sewer infrastructure and, once up and running, the source of 200 new jobs.
"We're really excited to be welcoming Pride Pak," Mayor Andrew Meier said. "It's been 20 years since we have had a new business locate to the building park. We're really glad Orleans County is becoming home to a lot of Canadian business."
