Potandon Produce Announces Start Date For Arizona New Crop Potatoes

Idaho Falls, ID – Potandon Produce L.L.C., the exclusive marketing agent for Pinto Creek Co., LLC in Eloy, Arizona, announced today that its fresh potato season will begin on Monday May 9th, 2016.

Red potatoes will start shipping on the 9th, and, the best-in-class Green Giant™ Fresh Klondike Goldust® potatoes are expected to start on the 13th, followed by Green Giant™ Fresh Klondike Gourmet® mini potatoes on the 25th. Fresh shipments will be available from Arizona until approximately July 4th at which time production will move to Texas. Dick Thomas, Senior VP of Sales had this to say, “We’ve had excellent red potato demand throughout the winter and we expect that to continue throughout the summer.”

Arizona potatoes will be available in Idaho Falls to load with russet orders approximately 1 week after production starts. With a full service distribution warehouse in Idaho, Potandon is able to offer their customers the option of combining varietal potatoes with russet orders, creating a buying experience that is second-to-none.

Pinto Creek is a PRIMUS certified facility with a full-time Quality Assurance person on-site daily. The packing facility has seen steady improvement over the past five years, with improvements to the grading and sizing equipment and the addition of a refrigerated storage.
