Pink Lady America Looking For Healthy Valentine's Day
February 7, 2013 | 1 min to read
With the holiday known for love coming up soon, the grower group behind the Pink Lady® Brand Apple is asking for those who really care to show it by giving something healthy on Valentine’s Day.
“We realize we’re bucking a long-established tradition with regard to giving chocolates and other sweets for this holiday,” says Alan Taylor, marketing director of Pink Lady America LLC in Yakima, Washington.
“And while it may seem ok to take one day off from being healthy, our point continues to be it’s best for all of us to understand the need to enjoy a healthy lifestyle which includes nutritious food and regular exercise.”
So with this in mind, and speaking from platform which several years had to support his weight of over 300 pounds, Taylor is putting a challenge out there about showing you really ‘do care’ about the ones you care about most.
“The Pink Lady® Brand Apple, like other apples, has a profile which is considered to be healthy in a number of respects,” Taylor says. “It also comes with a very pleasant sweet/tart flavor. Sweet/Tart and healthy, who really needs candy?”
“Why not show a loved one how much you care with a gift box of Pink Lady® Brand Apples and for her, garnish it with a few fresh flowers. And then top it off with a long, romantic, and healthy walk at a nearby park.”
