Original Wisconsin Potato Logo Receives Two ADDY Awards

Madison, WI – TMA+Peritus, a marketing, design and development firm with locations in Wausau and Madison, Wisconsin, was recently awarded the Wisconsin Gold ADDY® Award for the design of the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) logo. The logo — a peeled potato in the shape of the state of Wisconsin — also took home the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award.

The ADDY Awards are a district and national competition that recognizes advertising excellence in a wide variety of categories. ADDY entries are submitted by ad agencies, non-profit organizations and corporate marketing communications departments.

The initial concept for the WPVGA icon was the idea of agency principle, Tom Marks, and was designed by TMA+Peritus Art Director, Kurt Huber. The WPVGA logo will represent the state of Wisconsin in the American Advertising Federation District Finals against the best logos from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. If the WPVGA logo makes it through the highly competitive District Finals, it would move on to the National Finals being held in Phoenix, AZ.

As the President-elect of the American Advertising Federation Madison Chapter, which also includes communications firms and agencies in Milwaukee Marks served as Judges Chair for the Madison area competition serving as the supervisor of judges from Chicago and St. Louis. He was recently selected to judge the ADDY® Awards competition for the Northern Illinois American Advertising Federation held in Rockford, Illinois.

TMA+Peritus has a long history of working with diverse agricultural organizations including the WPVGA and the California Avocado Commission.
