Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers in Wenatchee, WA, recently named Shahin Ashraf to the position of chief operating officer, effective May 2.

As the new COO, Ashraf oversees financial, marketing and sales activities and reports directly to Oneonta President/CEO Dalton Thomas.

In announcing the creation of the position and the appointment, Thomas said, “We are pleased that Shahin has agreed to take on a critical managerial and leadership role for our company as we add a COO to our executive team. His background in sales, marketing and finance will provide Oneonta a strategic advantage toward the execution of our long term growth plans.”

Thomas also noted of Ashraf, who is his son-in-law, “I am happy to see another member of my family continue the legacy and vision started by my father in 1934.”

The newest member of Oneonta’s executive team comes to the Wenatchee-based fruit company after 20 years with Sun Gro Horticulture, where he most recently held the position of western region sales manager and was responsible for commercial sales with estimated annual sales of $60 million.

Ashraf earned a bachelor’s degree from University of San Diego, graduating in 1989, and he holds a master’s degree in Finance/Marketing from Seattle University, graduating in 1996.
