Ocean Mist Farms is using the same conservation methods at its PMA Fresh Summit booth this year that it employs at company headquarters in Castroville, California.
For example, in the past, the company gave out water bottles to booth staff and visitors. This year instead, the company will give have on site spring water dispensers, water cups made of earth friendly corn material and will give away a limited amount of stainless re-usable water bottles.
Well known for attracting attendees with their food prepared by Chef Tony Baker, Ocean Mist Farms will be serving a daily menu prepared with only sustainable ingredients.
This year Ocean Mist Farms will use plates and eating utensils that are made of sustainable-compostable materials to serve the 3000+ attendees at their booth throughout the three day Fresh summit.
Ocean Mist Farms will also have compost receptacles within their booth for making it easy to recycle/compost the “earth friendly” plates, water cups, napkins and eating utensils being distributed through its daily menu sampling.
“With the amount of waste we create on a daily basis within our booth at Fresh Summit, it only makes sense to use the same recycling practices we do at our own business facilities,” said Kori Tuggle, marketing manager. “We feel good about making it easier for the visitors to our booth in Orlando to reduce-reuse-recycle”
