Thermal, CA – North Shore Greenhouses, Inc., grower of North Shore Living Herbs and North Shore European Cucumbers, announced that after 28 years in the cucumber business, they have harvested their last crop of European cucumbers.
“Today was bittersweet, expressed Leo Overgaag, President and CEO of North Shore® Greenhouses, Inc. My wife and I started our family farm growing European cucumbers knowing we wanted to provide a good life for our children and opportunities for families in our greater community. Today our company continues to thrive to the point where we need the space to expand our herb line and continue to innovate in new ways. It’s really an exciting time for our company!”
North Shore currently grows over 20 varieties of culinary herbs, all “living” and all with their roots still intact. The company offers a full line of living clamshell and potted culinary herbs under the North Shore Living Herbs® brand. Located in the beautiful Coachella Valley, the company grows year round in southern California. The company notes strong growth in their culinary herb program that led them to the decision to retire their European cucumbers.
