NEW ENGLAND PRODUCE COUNCIL, INC. AND DOLE MAKE DONATION TO THE GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK
Burlington, MA – New England Produce Council, Inc. (NEPC) and Dole donate $5000.00 to the Greater Boston Food Bank. NEPC hosted a dinner meeting at the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) on Wed. Jan. 11th with Dole as the sponsor. The evening began with cocktails and tours of the GBFB. Anthony Sattler, NEPC President, and Neil Kessler, North East Region Manager Dole, presented a check to Catherine D’Amato, President/CEO, Greater Boston Food Bank. The meeting was attended by many NEPC members representing all aspects of the produce industry. Both organizations are proud to support such a worthy charitable organization as the Greater Boston Food Bank. "The Greater Boston Food Bank provides food for so many Men, Women, Families and Children and the NEPC are excited to be a part of this great cause" states Anthony Sattler, NEPC President.
GBFB is the largest hunger relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year, GBFB distributed over 57 million pounds of food with produce at 27.5% or 15 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. “Our partnership with the New England Produce Council is very beneficial as we continue to provide our partner agencies with more fresh produce to serve those in need in eastern Massachusetts. We are so grateful to Dole for hosting the NEPC event here at the Greater Boston Food Bank for the third year in a row", states Cheryl Schondek, V.P. of Food Acquisition & Supply Chain Greater Boston Food Bank.

NEPC VOLUNTEERS AT THE GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK
Members of the New England Produce Council, Inc. came together to volunteer at the Greater Boston Food Bank on Wed. Jan. 11th. The group met prior to the Dole dinner meeting to help sort and label close to 7000 pounds of product. “We look forward to making this annual event” states Laura Sullivan (NEPC Executive Director)
