MountainKing Introduces New Eye-Catching Bag Tags

HOUSTON, TX – Following tests in multiple markets, Texas-based MountainKing has introduced five new, attention-getting Kwik Lok bag tags, colorful tags which present the best use for MountainKing varieties with easy, chef-approved recipes.

Affixed to the bag near the opening, the 2 x 2 tags are designed to help shoppers delineate potatoes types by understanding key cooking differences while providing a simple, three or four-step recipe.  The tags also prevent retailers from mixing varieties in the same display.

“Our tests showed the tags were particularly appealing to younger shoppers,” says John Pope, MountainKing’s vice president sales & marketing. “Across the board, stores which merchandised MountainKing with our new bag tags realized increased sales and profits.”

The Bag Tag for MountainKing’s Butter Reds touts the variety as a boiling potato with a recipe for Butter Red Dill Potatoes.  Butter Gold bag tags promote the variety for mashing with a recipe for Garlic Gold Mashed Potatoes while tags for MountainKing’s Steakhouse Roasters tout the variety as best for roasting with a recipe for Parmesan Steakhouse Roasters.

Two other Kwik Lok bag tags are available for MountainKing Russet potatoes – one promoting fat-free snacking with a No-Guilt Microwave Potato Chips recipe and another touting Russets as best for frying with a recipe for Crispy Fries.

MountainKing’s bagged potatoes with Kwik Lok bag tags are available based on volume commitments with no additional cost to retailers.
