Michigan potato growers will decide this month whether to continue funding an organization that promotes their product.
The Michigan Potato Industry Commission was established in 1970. It performs tasks such as research, advertising and market development. By law, the program must be renewed every five years.
Growers are assessed 3.5 cents for every hundred pounds of potatoes they produce to pay for the commission's work.
