Salinas, Calif. – Mann Packing announced the hiring of Greg Komar to the position of director of food safety and product quality.
Komar will be responsible for all food safety and product quality systems for the company. Chairman & CEO, Lorri Koster, commented “His work experience in dealing with our produce food safety and quality requirements in this ever changing regulatory environment makes him a very welcome addition to the Mann’s team.”
Komar joins Mann’s from SCS Global Services where he was the director of food safety. Previously, he worked as the technical manager for NSF Agriculture for 7 years and was the director of food safety for Growers Express/Green Giant Fresh. Prior to that, Komar worked as senior quality assurance plant manager at Earthbound Farm and as quality assurance manager at Mann Packing from 2001 to 2003.
Komar possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Plant Biology from UC Davis.
