L&M is excited to announce its partnership with the Idaho potato grower-shipper, High Country, on June 19, 2012. Located in Rexburg, Idaho, High Country is one of Idaho’s largest russet potato packers – currently shipping about 1.5 million sacks annually.
Over the last several years, L&M has been carefully adding potato and onion farms and packing facilities to complement the Company’s existing operations. By teaming up with High Country, L&M becomes a solid industry leader in russet potatoes and completes its year-round program.
Todd Cornelison, President of High Country, says, “L&M was looking for an Idaho source to complete its potato program, and High Country needed an experienced marketing arm … it was perfect timing.”
Tracy Fowler, L&M’s General Manager of Potatoes and Onions noted, “I am really excited for this new challenge, partnership, and growth opportunity. Both L&M and High Country have a reputation for outstanding sustainable business practices and a high quality pack – we are a great fit for each other.”
“We look forward to this long-term partnership and all potential it provides, and I am most ecstatic about the character of the High Country operations, its integrity, and people,” said Mr. Fowler.
About High Country
As a second-generation Idaho farmer, Keith Cornelison began farming on his own in 1974. In 1983, he chose to venture into the fresh pack side of the potato business and High Country was formed. In 2006, Keith decided to retire; he handed the company over to his son, Todd Cornelison. High Country prides itself in keeping the philosophy which Keith started – its commitment to hard work and long term partnerships.
