Kingston Fresh Announces The Addition Of Chilean Grapes To Its Growing Imports Portfolio

IDAHO FALL, ID –  Kingston Fresh is excited to announce the addition of Chilean Grapes to its growing imports portfolio. The Company will receive its first arrivals in early February into the Philadelphia ports—perfect to service its key customers within the Eastern seaboard and Midwest markets.

As part of its ‘boots on the ground approach’ to international imports, Kingston President Ken Nabal traveled to Chile this month to visit grower-partners and personally walk grape and citrus fields.  Nabal commented, “Surveying a lot of our grape production in the South over a four day period, I see a lot of fruit on vines with consistent bunches and excellent berry sizing. Weather has been near perfect and we are excited with what we’re seeing.”

While the Kingston Fresh trademark “Sugar Pine” golden pineapple program from Costa Rica remains the flagship import program for the Company, Kingston has steadily branched out into several other globally-sourced products in recent years.  Today, popular imports such as mango, melons, papaya, asparagus, imported citrus, tropical roots and sweet onions are all a part of its ‘value-added’ offerings to food service customers and retailers alike.

“Our broad distribution network, renowned customer service and experienced logistics team continue to build our reputation in the grower community in Central and South America” said Nabal.  “Strong partnerships with the best growers are the cornerstone of any healthy, high-quality import programs.  We are making great strides in our expansion plans at Kingston—we are growing in both our existing product lines as well as also adding new items where it creates value for our customers.”

“Along with the addition of a Guatemalan Cantaloupe, Honeydew and Watermelon program this past winter, the Chilean Grape program will tie in with several other strategic sourcing opportunities on tap for 2014,” said David O. Kingston, CEO and Owner of Kingston Companies.  He added, “In recent years we have made a significant internal investment into our team of talented professionals at Kingston.  I am very pleased with the leadership we have put in place.  The key to future growth at Kingston is to remain steadfast in our Brand Promise— a relentless commitment to quality and food safety.”
